About ZipSocio
We believe that public data should be readable and useful. ZipSocio was built to translate complex government databases into clear, interactive neighborhood profiles.
Our Mission
Every year, the United States Census Bureau collects massive amounts of socio-economic and demographic data through the American Community Survey (ACS). While this data is publicly accessible, navigating raw government tables, shapefiles, and spreadsheets can be difficult for the average citizen.
ZipSocio aggregates, cleans, and presents this data at the individual ZIP code and county level. We provide home buyers, real estate agents, marketers, business planners, and curious residents with an easy-to-use directory and side-by-side comparison engine.
Where the Data Comes From
All demographic indicators on ZipSocio—including median household income, median home values, education rates, median age, and unemployment statistics—are processed directly from public records provided by the **U.S. Census Bureau**.
We rely on the **American Community Survey (ACS) 5-Year Estimates** (currently utilizing the 2022 dataset) because it offers the most detailed and statistically reliable estimates for smaller geographic units like ZIP codes (ZCTAs) and rural counties.
